Level SV things die fast B Arrow useless?

[:1]I feel I got MM rotation down decent so going back to Surv to learn that. Sticky says only cast it if mob will live for 15 sec but even bosses are lucky to make it that long at 75. Still worth grabbing and using on bosses or skip it until 80 or when things don't explode in seconds?

Sticky was clear on the rest can figure that out just not sure about black arrows usefulness at my level. Guessing grab it regardless and only use on bosses, but want to be sure.

Avoid another topic for easy question asking here. I got a cat for dps and a turtle for tanking stuff but thats it? Should I be collecting more pets by now?

edit: yeah, level with a cat until 85. the battle shout buff is the best single buff for any hunter spec
kinda figured for 1 point should just take it even if its not used much yet.

On the pet thing was more wondering if I should tame some other pets while leveling up so I have them. Does having only a cat for dps and turtle for soloing stuff hurt me somehow? If so what else do I need to stick in the stables?


eventually you will want many pets

but there is no need to do that now, because they inherit your level upon tame since last patch.

at 85 you will want

wolf
cat
dragonhawk/wind serpent
ravager
turtle
raptor
corehound (bm)
hyena
shale spider (bm)
probably have forgotten something

to adequately cover the big stuff, and worm/chimera if you find yourself in a situation where you've chosen the wrong spec for an aoe-intensive fight

edit: i see what you're saying now. having only a cat cannot hurt you, but there may be group situations where you will already have that buff, and the cat will not help you. it's all about covering the proper buffs and debuffs based on the group you're in. there are lists of all the buffs that pets provide at wow-petopia.com and elsewhere. i'd find a link for you, but i am cooking dinner. there is no better pet than a cat when questing solo.
makes sense gonna read up on pets a bit get a couple more for other buffs. Thanks for the info exactly what I was looking for.
Just use Black Arrow for dungeons, otherwise dont bother. Use frost trap via trap launcher to get free ES.

The glyph is pretty good for levelling if you wanna start practicing your kiting skills.
