[:1]Please use the tools blizzard gave you (I mean this in a nice way). Try using a macro so you don't have to click. Here's a macro that I use so it DOES NOT target enemies father than your max range, applies Hunter's mark, sends in your pet (pet should be on passive), and starts auto attack. I also added my profession perk, but you can add trinkets and other things.
/targetenemy
/cast Hunter's Mark
/petattack
/startattack
/cast Lifeblood(Rank 4)
In close quarters instances (like Stocks), make sure you're not close to you tank. You could accidentally target mobs farther ahead of the pack. As a semi good hunter, this should not be an issue as you should be aware of your environment, and not button mashing like some crazed derp orc.
The fix to auto targeting has been a blessing for groups. I can not tell you how many times (on my DK alt) that a hunter accidentally auto targets another mob or cc'd mob. Hopefully this fix will play down our "huntard" stigma that we have.
Disclaimer: I know I do not have any Heroics completed or bosses downed, no arena rating, and probably no BG stats. This is what is working for me and for others to try out. Just tring to help. Good Hunting!
